Healtheory is a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to advancing health justice by equipping young people with the knowledge and tools to understand and influence how institutions — from clinics to policy systems — shape health outcomes and experiences of harm.
Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic as Project Honor, Healtheory began by uplifting healthcare workers and building community support. Today, we continue that legacy by inspiring and training young leaders to address structural barriers to health and advocate for systems that protect dignity, equity, and trust.
We define health justice as the pursuit of fair and equitable opportunities for individuals and communities to attain their highest level of health. This includes not only access to care but also addressing institutional harm, power imbalances, and the policies that shape health outcomes
Our Story
Healtheory’s roots trace back to Project Honor, a community initiative that collected thousands of messages of gratitude and distributed care packages to frontline healthcare workers during the pandemic. This service-centered beginning shaped our belief that care extends beyond the clinic — into how systems treat people, and how young leaders can reimagine what health justice looks like in practice.
